Hi Jeannette
I Just wanted to say thank you for your diet. I am now on day 2 week 2 and have lost 7lbs whilst my husband has already lost 13lbs!!!
We are both utterly thrilled.
This is certainly the best diet I have ever used ref weight loss.
It has also made me use my kitchen more which is a bonus as I usually rely on shop bought meals.
I did want to ask 1 question. I have a birthday dinner to go to on Friday and I am panicking about what I can eat and drink, unfortunately I will not be able to avoid alcohol.
What is the best drink to have (obv I realise zero alcohol would be the best!)
Kind regards
Charlotte
Men can do the Drop Zone Diet too and achieve tremendous success with their health and wellness, look better feel better and sleep better.

Bigger Than Cheryl Cole
Bigger Than Cheryl Cole: Sky Living HD Wednesday 25th 9pm
![]()
This weeks programme focuses on Cheryl Cole and her VERY minimal nutrition/diet/food intake.
At 5' 3" and a tiny size 4 dress size, the task for the 'Cheryl' ladies proved to be one of the toughest of the series as Cheryl survives on just 1200 calories
when she is prepping for a tour or photoshoot.
![]()
Cheryl follows the 'Blood Type' diet plan devised by Dr Peter D'Adamo and as the nutritionist for this programme my task was to design a diet around this remit and one that also incorporated Cheryl's other nutritional rules of no carbs, no dairy and no takeaways!
In fact she seems to survive primarily on a very high protein diet of fish and Japanese food and avocados.
The girls on the programme did fantastically well to turn around their unhealthy eating habits and commit to the diet for 8 weeks and they had some AMAZING weight loss results!
You'll have to tune in to the programme to find out exactly how much.
Here are some behind the scenes pictures for you

The Drop Zone Diet - It Works!!!
Jeannette
Don't suppose you remember us,
we contacted you a week or so ago, we live in abroad and bought your detox plan
Well we have now been on your Drop Zone Diet, and thought i would let you know how well we are doing.
We are now on our 6th day -
My weight started at (Joanna) :
Day 1: 73.0
Day 2: 72.7
Day 3: 71.4
Day 4: 71.2
Day 5: 70.7
(my husband did not keep track of his weight)
At the start of the diet I also put on a pair of trousers that would not fit, i would say approx 8 inches away from meeting the button.
Today i am on my 6th day and I am now in the trousers.(fantastic)
Our life style is very busy and I work in an office so sit down most of the day.
We have not been able to do any of the exercises that you said we should do, as we are far too tired after our work and also just no time, we are at our busiest time in our business.
Daily food intake:
I must say on certain days i did not want to drink or eat any of the meals as you suggested, but i did - i do not like ginger, but i thought best keep it in and we got on with it.
We never felt hungry apart from in the evening on the 4th day , when we sat down to watch a little tv at 9.30pm. then i wanted a biscuit or something.
I could not find any grapes as out of season- and also the beans for the soup,so just did without.
My feelings J
Would i say this is the best diet i have been on, the answer is yes and no.
I feel great that it has only taken me one week to get to this weight, but i must admit i wasn't keen on some of the juices.
It took me 6 months last year to lose this sort of weight, and that was working out at the gym and also a strict well what i called a strict diet. (i needed to lose the weigh for my sons wedding in Mexico, but when i got home i put it all back on again)
So on a positive note - in one week i have achieved which would have taken me 6 months.
Now my main question and what all my friends are asking me, what happens at the end of the 2 week diet ??
answer, i do not know. Last year i lost the weight and put it all back on again.
I need some help with a calorie controlled diet that my partner and i would enjoy being on.
my partner loves meat and i love fish -
and of course being in in Europe we love a cold beer and a glass of wine.
Do you have a diet book for our needs.
Jeanette, I would like to thank you for getting us this far.
Many thanks and keep up the hard work.
ps. i would say that it helped with both of us being on the diet, as i did not have to smell the nice food being cooked or sneaking the odd biscuit that was in the cupboard.
because before we started the diet we cleared all the cupboard and the fridge, and just filled it with your menu food.
I would also say that it helped that i purchased a weeks food in advance so it was all in ready and i did not need to keep running the shops.
once again a very big thank you

Lady Gaga Sky Living TV
Bigger Than Gaga.....
![]()

As a celebrity nutritionist and author of the Drop Zone Diet I am often asked by members of the public how they can achieve a ‘celebrity body’
For the Lady Gaga nutrition on Sky Living’s ‘Bigger Than Gaga’ programme the nutrition plan I devised for the girls is a combination of a number of nutrition/diet methods that Gaga herself likes to use. Before a gig she likes to do the 5 Factor diet plan which comprises of the eating foods that fall into the following factors:
- Low fat, quality protein
- Low GI foods
- Good sources of fibre
- Contains healthy fats
- Sugar free beverages
Whereas in her day to day life she sometimes follows the 7 colour diet plan to ensure she gets a varied diet.
All the girls taking part in the programme lived busy hectic lives and so it was important that I designed a nutrition plan that they had time to prep and to stick with. The menu below for example uses pre cooked fish that you simply add salad to, but yet offers maximum nutrition and would give Gaga a huge energy boost before a show.
Peppered Smoked Mackerel Salad

150g Peppered smoked mackerel fillet (precooked)
1/2 chopped mango
1 inch cucumber chopped
3 walnuts chopped
tbsp cranberries
1/2 juice of fresh lime
100g spinach chopped
Place the fish on the bed of spinach, sprinkle over the cucumber, cranberries, mango and chopped walnuts then squeeze the lime juice over the meal and serve.
It was great working with the girls and the also my dear friend Mark Summers from Mark Summers Casting once again.

Porridge: The Natural Health & Beauty Tonic
Porridge: The Natural Health & Beauty Tonic
For 2012 many people have already made resolutions to make this year their healthiest year yet and I'm helping thousands of people doing my Drop Zone Diet to finally shed years of stubborn weight. Yet with many people on a budget, what better way to help achieve this goal than with a food that contains a raft of vitamins and minerals and naturally helps to relieve stress by ‘mopping up’ stress chemicals, lowers cholesterol, reduces depressive symptoms, and is regularly used by natural herbalists to treat mental and physical exhaustion.
The humble oat really is a natural inexpensive superfood and a makes a fantastic start to the day. Don’t bother buying expensive vitamins from the health shop as oats are jam packed with vitamins and minerals including:
• B Vitamins
• Potasium
• Magnesium
• Calcium
• Chronium
• Iron
• Folate
• Selenium
So porridge is a multi-vitamin in a bowl and if you follow my recipe below you are aiding digestive health and helps to take some pressure of liver by balancing blood glucose levels too.
I think it’s a delicious start to the day and if you give it a go then why not twitter me @jjnutrition to let me know your thoughts!
Remember if you want to lose weight and make 2012 your most GORGEOUS too then The Drop Zone Diet will help you lose 14lbs in 14 days to really kick start your happy healthy New Year.

Porridge with Grated Apple & Honey
100g porridge oats
½ an apple grated
1 tsp Manuka honey
200g water

Place the porridge in a pan and cover with the water and simmer on low heat. Stir occasionally to release the natural starch (this will turn the porridge a lovely milky white as though it’s been made by milk) when desired consistency place in bowl and add the apple and honey.
Finally.........oats are a nervine tonic which means they help to soothe the central nervous system and so this brekafst is fantastic for anyway with muscle pain or spasms!

Lose the Booze
Today I will be speaking to Becky Want live on BBC Radio Manchester about the nutrition and health aspects of her 'Lose the Booze' campaign. Becky had an alcohol free Christmas and is now supporting people to make January a booze free month in order to improve health, lose weight and boost wellness.
So what role does nutrition play in supporting liver health?
The liver has a multitude of vital roles within the body including filtering toxins, absorbing necessary vitamins and minerals, manufacturing bile (very important for breaking down fats!), regulating blood suagr levels and producing hormones and chemicals that manage a multitude of enzymes to support body functions. Foods that help to support liver health include low GI foods - The Glycemic Index indicates how different carbohydrate foods break down to release their sugars and thus raise blood glucose levels. If you eat a well balanced GI meal then you help to stabalise blood sugar levels which helps to reduce symptoms of fatty liver which include achy joints, fatigue, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, weight gain, forgetfulness, constipation and many more...
To help you boost liver health here is a fabulous recipe which is low in GI and also delicious:
Supergreen Adzuki Bean & Broccoli Soup
200g broccoli cut into small florets
2 tins adzuki beans
1 tin kidney beans in chilli sauce
1 onion chopped
3 cloves garlic peeled & crushed
150g brown rice (easy cook 20 mins)
1 litre vegetable stock
1 tsp vegetable oil
Heat the oil in large pan and fry off the onions, then add the garlic, vegetable stock, broccoli and rice and bring to boil then cook on medium heat for 15 mins. Now add the adzuki beans and the kidneys beans and cook for a further 5 minutes.
Allow to cool and blend smooth or desired consistency.
Supergreen Adzuki Bean & Broccoli Soup
The wholefoods containing highest quality protein and fats will help to:
- Increase your energy levels
- Enhance metabolic function
- Reduce body mass
- Improve cognitive funtion
- Stabalization of blood sugar levels
- Reduction of insulin resistance
- Lower levels of fat accumulation in the liver
If you need to lose weight as a catalyst to get you healthy the then Drop Zone Diet can help you.

Bigger Than….... Sky Living TV
I recently had the pleasure of working with the acclaimed independent television production company Renegade Pictures on a six part series for Sky Living called Bigger Than..... the first programme of the series goes out on Sky Living on Wednesday 4th January 2012 and is called 'Bigger Than....Beyonce'
The main premise of the show is to see if given the same diet and nutrition plan as Beyonce, plus a fitness expert and dance teacher would women who proport to being her biggest fans (and look very similar to her) learn how to walk, dance and end up looking like her.
My role on the programme was to analyse Beyonce's diet and nutrition plans and to create a plan for the girls to stick to to enable them to lose weight 'The Beyonce Way' and I can tell you we had some fantastic results!
In all honesty I designed it in a similar way to my Drop Zone Diet in that I had to follow the nutrition principles that Beyonce follows (High Protein/Low Fat) but I made it as easy as I could for the girls to use easily accesible foods that take minimal preparation and cooking BUT that enable fast weight loss that also makes you look and feel amazing!
Hope you manage to catch the show and if you do let me know what you think on twitter @jjnutrition
